特別企画　仏教の足跡　于闐壁画展

千秋庭

11:00〜19:00(最終日17:00迄)

　古代インドで興った仏教は東へ伝播する過程で多くの足跡を残しました。
　本企画展ではその中で于闐（ホータン）に残された壁画を中心に彫塑作品を併せて展示いたします。その表現や技法は当時の日本にも伝わり、今は失われた法隆寺の壁画に影響を与えたと伝えられております。
　大谷探検隊が中央アジアの地を踏んでから今年で120周年の節目にあたります。
　皆様にご高覧いただけたら幸甚です。

　Born in ancient India, Buddhism left the footprints on many aspects of local cultures in the course of its propagation toward the East.
　This special exhibition presents artifacts of Khotan, mainly murals and some sculptures.
　It is said that the expression and technique were brought to Japan at that time and influenced the mural of Horyuji temple which has now been lost.
　This year marks the 120th anniversary since the expedition of SilkRoad by Otani Kozui.
　We are more than happy and welcomes you to take this opportunity to see rare Buddhist art of Central Asia.
